Quotes are never translated. Outside the French interface, the default collection is Mix (English); in French it is called Mélange and mixes the French collections.
For a server collection, the page keeps the same quote for the whole day: ↻ asks for a new one. Quote length limits these collections to quotes of up to 220 characters (Short only) or 500 characters (Short and long); it does not apply to Geek humour, your own quotes or your favourites.
If the server does not answer, a quote built into the page is shown instead.
Favourites
Section titled “Favourites”☆ keeps the quote on screen, up to a hundred. Find them in the Links and notes window, under Favourite quotes, or choose the Favourite quotes collection to rotate them on the home page.
Your own quotes
Section titled “Your own quotes”Choose My own quotes, then write one quote per line in Your own quotes. Anything before the first | becomes the author:
Start with one thing.Me | Proofread before you publish.Without |, the author shown is “You”. Empty lines are skipped, and the whole collection is limited to 8,000 characters. While it is empty, Geek humour stands in.
Your quotes and favourites are part of the JSON export and of sync.
