Clock, date and time zones
These settings are in Settings → Home → Clock and Greeting.
Time and date
Section titled “Time and date”| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Show the clock, Seconds, Date | Show or hide each item |
| Time format | 24-hour or 12-hour |
| Date format | “Day and month”, “Day, month and year”, “Short” or “Numeric” |
| Time size | 60 to 150 % |
| Date size | 60 to 200 % |
| Shown large | The time or the date takes the lead |
For a new space, the 12- or 24-hour format follows the habit of the browser’s language (12-hour for US English, for example). It does not change afterwards, even if you switch the interface language.
Time zones
Section titled “Time zones”Under Time zones:
- Main time zone drives the clock, the date and the greeting. Left empty, it is the browser’s, so it follows the computer when you travel. Once filled in, it stays put.
- Second, Third and Fourth time zone add clocks below the date. An empty field hides that clock.
Names come from the IANA database and are suggested as you type: Europe/Paris, America/New_York, Asia/Tokyo. Daylight saving changes are the ones the browser knows about.
The weather city has no effect on the clock, and vice versa.
Name and greeting
Section titled “Name and greeting”Your first name is optional. Greeting replaces “Good morning” or “Good evening” with your own text; left empty, it follows the time of day. Show the greeting hides the whole message without touching the clock.
The time looks wrong
Section titled “The time looks wrong”Check, in this order, the system clock, the Main time zone (a zone you typed in does not follow your travels) and the 12/24-hour format.
